Hazardous Aqueous Waste Treatment
Elcon Recycling Ltd, an Israeli company, has developed an innovative solution for the treatment of high organic-content wastewater using Distillation and Ambient Pressure Heat Recovery Technology. Elcon's treatment is a Thermo-Chemical-Physical process with energy recovery of up to 100%. The treatment does not require any biological or incineration processes, and does not leave any sludge residue for additional treatment. The outcome of the process is reusable distilled water and clean salt. An Elcon facility can be self-sufficient, recycling its steam for reuse in proceeding treatment cycles resulting in high energy efficiency.
As compared to traditional biological or incineration treatment, the Elcon process offers better economics, reduced CO2 emissions, no residual biological sludge, a robust process, and small footprint. This technology is well proven with three plants now serving the pharmaceutical industry in Israel.
